Research

The groups at the IPMB deal with the development, investigation and application of active substances and drugs as well as the elucidation of molecular and cellular mechanisms of action. Experimental techniques from chemistry, molecular and cell biology, pharmacology, bioinformatics and pharmaceutical technology are applied. 

Research focuses on nucleic acids as tools and therapeutic target structures, new anti-infectives, drug targeting and the transport of active substances as well as research into neurodegenerative diseases. A number of different research groups are based at the IPMB.
