Image analysis of biological and medical images
The Biomedical Computer Vision (BMCV) research group, headed by Prof. Dr. Karl Rohr, develops methods and algorithms for the computer-aided analysis of biological and medical images, in particular cell microscopy images. The BMCV group is part of Heidelberg University, the BioQuant Center, the IPMB and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ).
Research Topics
Research topics of the group are cell segmentation and tracking, particle detection and tracking, non-rigid image registration, vessel segmentation and landmark localization using deep learning methods, model-based methods and probabilistic methods. A main goal is to derive quantitative and qualitative information about cellular structures, tissues and organs based on multimodal image data.
