About us Head of the Institute

The IPMB is represented by a director elected by the professors. This director is the contact person for all official matters. Prof. Dr. Christian Klein has held this position for several years and is supported by Prof. Dr. Ulrike Müller as a deputy. Thanks to their many years of experience in leading research groups, they ensure that work at the institute runs as smoothly as possible.

Prof. Dr. Christian Klein acts as Managing Director of the IPMB. He is also the head of the department for Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry.

Prof. Dr. Ulrike Müller heads the Functional Genomics department, is the Deputy Managing Director of the IPMB and Dean of Studies for Molecular Biotechnology.
